Hace poco vi un documental llamado September issue en el que se filmó el procedimiento que Anna Wintour, la directora artística de Vogue, Grace Coddington, la estilista de la misma, Tom Florio, su publicista, André Leon Talleo, su editor-at-large, y muchas otras personas que trabajan en la revista siguieron para crear la edición de septiembre de 2007 con Sienna Miller en la portada. De entrada diré que si te gusta el mundo de la moda tanto como a mi, es un documental que tienes que ver sí o también porque muestra la elaboración de la edición sin ningún secreto y el esfuerzo que hacen todos los componentes de la revista incluso cuando se pisa su trabajo.
Al terminar de verlo vino una idea a mi mente: ¿por qué no escribir un post recopilador de las mejores portadas de Vogue del mundo entero (según mi criterio)? Y aquí estoy, incluso cuando opino que Vogue está decayendo y se está convirtiendo en todo menos en una revista de moda. De todas maneras, las portadas son las portadas, la fotografía es la fotografía, y el arte es el arte, por lo que eso es lo único que voy a juzgar.

A time ago I saw a documentary film called September issue in which they filmed the process that Anna Wintour, Vogue artistic director, Grace Coddington, its stylist, Tom Florio, its publicist, André Leon Talleo, its editor-at-large, and many other people who work in the magazine followed to make the 2007 september issue with Sienna Miller on the cover. First I'll say that if you like fashion world as much as me, it's a documentary film that you definitely need to watch because it shows the elaboration of no secret issue and the efforts made by all components of the magazine even when their work is pressed off.
When it finnished an idea came to my mind: Why not to write a compiler post about the best Vogue covers worldwide (from my point of view)? So here I am, even when I think that Vogue is declining and it's becoming everything but a fashion magazine. Anyway, covers are covers, photograph is photograph, and art is art, and that's the only thing I'm going to judge.

Arrogant enough

En el post de hoy quiero dar mi opinión (la cual creo que es totalmente correcta) sobre lo que está pasando en la industria de la moda últimamente. Como ya he estado diciendo por mis redes sociales estos días atrás, estoy muy decepcionada. ¿Razones? Pues que revistas con un presunto prestigio como Elle o, claro que sí, Vogue, le dan importancia a "modelos" como Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner o Cara Delevingne. ¿Cómo es posible que las familias de estas chicas con una belleza de lo más normal y retocada en multitud de ocasiones hagan de ellas supermodelos? Para mi nunca lo serán, pues una verdadera modelo, una modelo que realmente es buena, construye su propia carrera, y no necesita de nadie que la haga famosilla.

In today's post I want to give my opinion (which I think is totally correct) about what is going on in the fashion industry lately. As I have already been saying for my social networks these days ago, I am very disappointed. Reasons? Well, magazines with an alleged prestige like Elle or, yes, Vogue, attach importance to "models" like Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner or Cara Delevingne. How is it possible that the families of these girls with normal beauty and retouched on numerous occasions make them supermodels? For me they they will never be, because a real model, a model that really is good, builds her own career, and doesn't need anyone to do socialite.

Golden review

Hace unos días se celebraron los Golden Globes 2016, y eso nos ha traído más celebrities que sacan de paseo sus mejores galas. La verdad es que han habido chicas que me han decepcionado enormemente con sus vestidos, pero a lo mejor es porque el año pasado hubo unos estilismos maravillosos que se han vuelto inmejorables. Aunque también ha habido una persona en concreto que me ha sorprendido para bien. El caso es que ha habido de todo, y eso es lo que me gusta, que no se haya concentrado todo el mundo en un solo color o en un solo estilo. Hagamos un repaso de las mejores y por el contrario, las peores vestidas... siempre desde mi punto de vista, claro.

A few days ago were held the Golden Globes 2016, and that has brought us more celebrities who take their finery ride. The truth is that there have been girls who have disappointed me greatly with their clothes but maybe it's because last year there were some wonderful outfits that have become unbeatable. Although there have been a particular person that has surprised me for good. The fact is that there have been from all, and that's what I like, not everyone is concentrated in a single color or a single style. Let's make a review of the best and conversely, the worst dressed ... always from my point of view, of course.

Fashion on the red carpet

Hoy voy a hacer una evaluación de los estilismos que algunas actrices han llevado a los People's Choice Awards 2016. Así por lo pronto y como resumen diré que han sido unos premios muy monocromáticos en lo que a vestuario se refiere, pero también muy variados. Todos sabemos que sería un drama que aparecieran dos actrices con un mismo modelito, pero haya calma, ya se encargarán de estar atentos los estilistas de dichas actrices para que esto no ocurra. Por lo que he visto, solo ha habido una que se haya arriesgado realmente con su vestido. A ver si sois capaces de adivinar de quién estoy hablando.

Today I'm making an assessment of the outfits that some actresses have worn to the People's Chioce Awards 2016. So for the time being and as a summary I would say that's been a very monochromatic clothing, but also very varied. We all know that it would be a drama if two actresses show up with the same outfit, but keep calm, stylists will be careful to this not to happen. From what I've seen, there has been only one actress that has really risked on her dress. Let me see if you're able to guess whom I'm talking about.

Katy Christmas what?

Voy a empezar diciendo que aprecio el hecho de que H&M haya elegido a una mujer con curvas para hacer esta campaña porque estoy bastante harta de las modelos esqueléticas a las que estamos acostumbrados a ver, pero son eso mismo: modelos. Lo que quiero decir es que este año se ha echado mano de celebrities para hacer campañas publicitarias para conseguir más ventas, y eso es algo que realmente me cabrea. Katy Perry es una mujer de 31 años, y si lo que querían era a una mujer para esta campaña, hay cientos de modelos de esa edad como Doutzen Kroes e incluso mayores como Claudia Schiffer que no son el tópico de modelo enferma y anoréxica.

I'm going to start by saying that I appreciate the fact that H&M has chosen a curvie woman to host the campaign because I'm done with skinny models which we're used to see, but that's what they are: models. What I mean is that this year has seized on celebrities for advertising campaigns to get more sales, and that's something that really pisses me off. Katy Perry is a 31 years old woman, and if they wanted a woman for this campaign, there are hundreds of models just like Doutzen Kroes and even older like Claudia Schiffer who are not the topic of a sick and anorexic model.

Make-up on my bed

Hoy quiero mostrar lo que más uso en cuestión de maquillaje y decir el por qué. Otra crítica, que por lo visto es lo único que hago últimamente. Para el maquillaje soy bastante básica, tanto que ni siquiera uso base o polvos de maquillaje. Tampoco pienso que lo necesite, pues tengo la piel bastante unificada. Empecemos pues!

Today I want to show you the kind of make-up that I use the most and tell you why. Another review, which is, apparently, the only thing that I do lately. I'm a little bit basic wearing make-up, I don't even wear makeup base or powders. The point is I don't think I need it because my skin is quite unified. So let's do it!

The opinion of an amateur

Quiero empezar el post de hoy por el final, con un resumen rápido. Allá va: lo que ha compensado la mala elección de ciertas modelos este año han sido los maravillosos diseños que han creado. Y sí, estoy hablando de Gigi Hadid y de Kendall Jenner. No quiero que se me malinterprete, por supuesto que estoy de acuerdo con el movimiento curvies que ha empezado Gigi, pero no a golpe de talonario, y lo mismo con Kendall. Es muy fácil formar parte de Victoria's Secret cuando tu mami es Yolanda Foster o eres casi hermana de Kim Kardashian. Otra cosa que no me parece justo es que ambas "modelos" hayan tenido el honor de llevar diseños realmente preciosos, los cuales se les deberían de haber dejado a modelos de verdad.
Espero que esta sea la primera vez y la última que tenga que ver a Kendall "quien-quiera-que-sea" Jenner pasearse por la pasarela de VS, y lo mismo para la antipática de Gigi "niña-de-mamá" Hadid.

Chanel as a lifestyle

Desde mi punto de vista, después del Spring-Summer 2013, el Métiers d'Art es lo mejor que ha creado el genio de Karl Lagerfeld para Chanel. Empecemos hablando de la puesta en escena de este desfile. Karl llevó las calles de París a Roma. Las modelos empiezan saliendo de una boca de metro y simplemente se pasean por la pasarela, que una vez más repito, son calles del París romántico que aparecen en las películas francesas. Se pueden apreciar los típicos cafés de allí, las queserías y panaderías a las que van los parisinos cada domingo por la mañana. Cuando ya han desfilado todas las modelos, hacen el final de desfile bajando por unas escaleras que las vuelven a llevar hacia los espectadores para que, finalmente, aparezca Karl de la mano de su nieto a saludar y hacer acto de presencia.

From my point of view, after the Spring-Summer 2013, the Métiers d'Art is the best thing that the genius of Karl Lagerfeld has created for Chanel. Let's start talking about the staging that made it impossible to focus on the designs. Karl took the streets of Paris to Rome. The models start coming out of a subway station and just walk down the runway, once again I repeat, are romantic streets of Paris appearing in French films. You can see the typical caffees there, dairies and bakeries where Parisians go every Sunday morning. When all the models have already paraded, they finnish the fashion show by walking down stairs which take them back to the viewers. And finally, Karl and his grandson arrive holding hands, they greet and make an appearance.
