Quiero empezar el post de hoy por el final, con un resumen rápido. Allá va: lo que ha compensado la mala elección de ciertas modelos este año han sido los maravillosos diseños que han creado. Y sí, estoy hablando de Gigi Hadid y de Kendall Jenner. No quiero que se me malinterprete, por supuesto que estoy de acuerdo con el movimiento curvies que ha empezado Gigi, pero no a golpe de talonario, y lo mismo con Kendall. Es muy fácil formar parte de Victoria's Secret cuando tu mami es Yolanda Foster o eres casi hermana de Kim Kardashian. Otra cosa que no me parece justo es que ambas "modelos" hayan tenido el honor de llevar diseños realmente preciosos, los cuales se les deberían de haber dejado a modelos de verdad.
Espero que esta sea la primera vez y la última que tenga que ver a Kendall "quien-quiera-que-sea" Jenner pasearse por la pasarela de VS, y lo mismo para la antipática de Gigi "niña-de-mamá" Hadid.
I want to start today's post by the end, summarizing it: which has offset the wrong choice of some models this year have been the wonderful designs they have created. And yes, I'm talking about Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner. Don't let me be misunderstood. I absolutely agree with Gigi's curvies movement, but but not to hit book, and the same for Kendall. It's easy to walk on the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show when your mommy is Yolanda Foster or you're almost sister with Kim Kardashian. Another thing that I find unfair is both "models" are wearing really beautiful designs, which should have been for real models.
I hope this'll be the first and the last time I saw Kendall "who & whatever" Jenner walk on VSFS, and the same for unfriendly Gigi "mom girl" Hadid.
Dejando de lado a las malas críticas, demos paso a lo realmente importante: los diseños.
Hay seis secciones, y cada una de ellas con sus correspondientes conjuntos de ropa interior pero de una forma muy especial, de una forma muy a lo Victoria's Secret.
La primera sección la han llamado Boho Psychedelic, y mi diseño favorito ha sido, sin duda, el que ha llevado la preciosa Candice Swanepoel porque, en mi opinión, es el alma de la colección. Tiene toda la esencia de esos 70s en los que se inspira la colección.
Leaving out the bad reviews, let's talk about what really matters: the designs.
There are six sections, and each of them have their corresponding underwear sets, but in a very special way, in a Victoria's Secret way.
The first section is called Boho Psychedelic, and my favoutite design has been, with no doubt, Candice Swanepoel's one because, to me, it's the soul of the colection. It has all the essence of the 70s where the collection is inspired.
La segunda sección, Portrait of an angel. El diseño que llevaba Lily Donaldson fue el que más me gustó por esas alas que no he visto en toda la historia de VS. Es un diseño un poco básico, pero a veces, eso es lo que funciona.
The second section, Portrait of an angel. The design that Lily Donaldson was wearing was wich I most liked because I haven't seen those wings in the whole VS history. I think it's a basic design, but sometimes, that's what works.
Mi diseño favorito de la tercera sección, es decir, de Butterflies lo llevó la carismática Magdalena Frackowiak, y me gusta porque es tan sexy que contrasta del todo con la idea de la inocencia que representa una mariposa.
Mi favourite design of the third section, I mean, Butterflies was worn by charismatic Magdalena Frackowiak, and I like it because it's so sexy that contrast at all with the idea of innocence that a butterfly represents.
En la sección de Pink, la sección más divertida, destacó, según mi punto de vista el diseño de Maud Welzen ya que me recordó mucho a una secretaria demasiado sexy y desentonó con los patrones que suele tener esta colección.
In Pink section, the funniest section, standed out Maud Welzen's design because it reminded me of a too sexy secretary and had nothing to do with the patterns that usually has this section.
La tercera sección, llamada Ice Angels. El diseño que más llamó mi atención fue este de Barbara Fiahlo porque era totalmente diferente al resto de la colección. Mientras que en la mayoría de diseños había alas con plumas y mucho volumen, en este predominaba la transparencia y el brillo.
The third section, called Ice Angels. The design that caught my attention was that of Barbara Fiahlo because it was totally different from the rest of the collection. While in most designs had feathered wings and a lot of volume, in this one was prevailing transparency and brightness.
Por último pero no menos importante, nos encontramos con la última sección del Victoria's Secret 2015 llamada Fireworks. El diseño que llevó Lily Aldridge fue mi favorito por una razón muy simple, porque llevaba el fantasy bra, y como cada año supera al anterior, este año no podía ser una excepción. También me gustó mucho por la simulación que fuegos artificiales que llevaba en la espalda que le dio el toque que le faltaba al conjunto.
Last but not least, we find the last section of the Victoria's Secret 2015 called Fireworks. The design that Lily Aldridge wore was my favorite for a very simple reason, because it had the fantasy bra, and like every year surpasses the previous one, this year is no exception. I also enjoyed the fireworks simulation that she carried on her back that gave the touch that was missing from the outfit.
Me gustaría darle un poco de protagonismo a dos modelos relativamente nuevas que me gustan mucho: Sara Sampaio y Taylor Hill. Es gracioso porque cuando Erin Heatherton y Lindsay Ellingson formaban parte de Victoria's Secret solía confundirlas, y ahora me pasa lo mismo con Sara y Taylor. Sé que no tienen nada que ver la una con la otra, Sara tiene una expresión más rockera y Taylor más angelical, pero la mente humana es muy compleja, y yo tengo este problema con estas dos modelos. Me gustan porque han llegado a donde están por mérito propio, y eso las hace irreemplazables para mi.
I would like to give some prominence to two relatively new models that I really like: Sara Sampaio and Taylor Hill. It's funny because when Erin Heatherton and Lindsay Ellingson were part of Victoria's Secret I used to confuse them, and now I feel the same with Sara and Taylor. I know they have nothing to do with each other, Sara has a more rock and Taylor angelic expression, but the human mind is very complex, and I have this problem with those two models. I like them because they have come to where they are on merit, and that makes them irreplaceable for me.
Tengo que decir que mientras iba viendo el desfile sentía como que Victoria's Secret ya no le daban a modelos como Alessandra Ambrosio o Adriana Lima la importancia que se merecen. Entiendo que hay que dejarle sitio a nuevas modelos, pero la firma no sería ni de lejos lo que es hoy sin ellas dos, y parece que eso se les está olvidando. No me gustaría que en el desfile del año que viene no se contara con ellas, y viendo como han ido las cosas este año, me parece que eso es lo que va a pasar. Por eso yo quiero reconocer el trabajo duro que hacen día a día estas dos grandes modelos, y no solo el día del desfile.
I have to say that while I was watching the fashion show, I felt like Victoria's Secret no longer gave models like Alessandra Ambrosio or Adriana Lima the importance they deserve. I understand that we must make room for new models, but the company would not be anywhere near what it is today without them both, and it seems that they are forgetting this. I wouln't like that next year VS don't count on them, and seeing how things have gone this year, I think that's what is going to happen. So I want to recognize the hard work that those two great models do every day, not just the day of the fashion show.

Una entrada perfecta! Respeto tu opinion, pero creo que este desfile no ha sido tan grande... Tambien esta el tema de la delgadez, algunas modelos estaban demasiado delgadas ><

Estoy de acuerdo en que otros años ha estado muchísimo mejor, pero el de este año me gustó más que el del año pasado... sino hubiese sido por el detalle de las modelos enchufadas. Sí que había modelos demasiado delgadas, pero sanas.
